As I posted on my Live Journal, I've got a big map of the Empire going through its last stages of creation, and I intend to post it on the site sometime soon. It'll be useful for my players (can check things while at home), and others may find it useful too, for all of it's odd appearance. If anyone wants some details, feel free to ask.
@De Hagley: This is the map that you're currently using, fyi -- it has more on it since you have last seen it. Oh, and where is your next story? Don't tell me you've gone and got a life?!

Okay, having just been PMed about this (with added enthusiasm and begging), I'll put a low-res of this up a little later, so you can all see the current progress of the map.
However, I'll add the same caveats I added on the LJ post before I do this: '[this map] doesn't look anything like any other Empire map, as the whole making-the-existing-Warhammer-World-maps-fit-on-a-globe thing caused a bunch of major distortions, but I like that. It kinda gives the impression that the existing maps are rubbishy in-character iterations made by ignorant Empire folk, and this map is the underlying truth. Not true, of course, but as it's just a game aid, what does it matter? After all, this is a map for my games, not for print.'
Also, for extra info: 'I'm drafting it as an atlas map, using modern stylings (well, kinda), and showing the curvature of the planet. It goes into fairly exhaustive detail, and includes most of the various locations mentioned in most of GW's books, and then some.'
Post soon(ish). _________________ Hapimeses.com |

As you'll see from the image below, there is a lot to do (Kislev, Bretonnia, and a whole bunch of details in the Empire), but you should be able to get an idea of where I'm heading.
So, umm, there you go. I'll post more on this as I progress further with the map.
For those interested, it uses the GW studio maps I was given as the source for topographical details, and is distorted from the normal shape you would expect for an Empire map because I overlayed the original maps over a globe to get a realistic position in degrees and stuff for the Empire, which proved to be quite revealing regarding the size of the Warhammer World according to the scales I've used in the official maps, and quite fun. _________________ Hapimeses.com |

As someone else that has seen this map in all its glory, I'll add that it is quite simply amazing! Andy - you're a sad man... and we love you for it _________________ "Join with this...!" |

Thanks, Dan. You, also, rock!
Well, excepting the whole 'sad man' bit.

Heh! Yeah, it is a bit small.
When I do my next update, I'll also post a zoomed-in section of the map so you can see what it looks like more clearly.

Patience.
I'll post it when it's finished to my satisfaction -- or, at least, finished enough that all the areas are largely completed. So, worry not, it will be publically available here.

Had to register here too, when I found picture of your Empire Map here...
Man, that looks good! Best map ever! I think you should soon post say BETA version. Let the fans check out the details. If it's on your site, then you can easily update the map (new versions) if something is missing (not that there probably is anything missing)... _________________ Welcome to Norsca. I'll see about posting something with a few more details when I'm done with this batch of deadlines.

Pretty wonderful map...
I hope real-life doesn't take you too far from completing this.
Thanks for the time and effort. |

Thanks, uhlan.
I'll have to see about doing some more of this soon, as I need it for some upcoming events in my campaign; however, time, as you suggest, has been a little tight.
This week, having completed the first pass of Shades of Empire (which I can finally mention that I'm working on -- woo hoo!), I wrote an entire game for my group to play called 'The Defence of Altdorf'. We're playing it tonight, and I'm really looking forward to seeing how it all pans out.
As for the map: I plan to move on to Wissenland next, as the Countess's grand province need a lot of details added. However, I'm starting a new project next week, so my time will continue to be tight. I'll see if I can squeeze in an update sometime next week, as it's long overdue.
