Just stopped by to clap my hands to Andy, once again.
Well, it's just the second time, but I think he deserves it. A lot.
It's been a year since my last visit, and I'm happy to see that work is still in progress. And that my WFRP 2nd Ed campaign is still goin' on.
I'm reading your reviews of the 3rd edition with attention, even if I know I'm not gonna play it.
I started with 1st edition, I can't play WFRP with weird dice, cards and so on. I'm just too old, I suppose.
But I'm fascinated by your reports. Keep up good work!
And, by the way, thank you Andy!
Greetings from (too) sunny Tilea! |
I totally understand how you feel. I'm too old and lazy to start buggering about with cards and counters. I'm stuck in my ways. Hell, even dice and a character sheet seems like a pain to me nowadays. We all seem to use iPods nowadays.
Anyway, glad you could stop by again. _________________ Hapimeses.com |

Technology got heavily into RPG world. At least into mine.
I write all the stuff for my games on my laptop, usually because I'm more productive when I can use Lexicanum and Wikipedia.
And, obviously, because editing pictures (I'm a photographer) can get a little boring...
For a starter, I'm too lazy to print my own stuff, so the laptop rules my games; and handling digital maps with snow leopard (or photoshop when I'm on windows) is awesome. And here's the point where my dreams of zooming all the way in the big map of the empire, Minority Report style, kick in!
Anyway there's a thing that I can't do without.
Dice rolling.
I tried a lot of software dicerollers, even wrote a couple, very simple ones.
Nothing can take my dice away from me. I like the stupid feelings like "aaaw, I should have used the other ones!" or, when they're rolling, the Caesar's Palace "c'mon baby, give me a 01!" voice in my head!
(I actually play with a friend that kisses dice before rolling them... ) _________________ http://www.karma.st |

Yup. Sounds about right. It's just not right unless you can hear the old bones rattling in your hand before you toss them, hope in your heart, to the waiting hard surface.
Digital dice are, I'm afraid to say, crap. _________________ Hapimeses.com |

I just want to chime in to say I totally agree on the dice part. There's something... divine about rolling a beautiful dice or two! _________________ + + + Deus caritas est + + +

Welcome in, Kevle. Glad you like the map. It's not had an update for a few months due to my house being flooded. I'm still in an apartment on Easter Road as I wait for the insurance to finish clearing sewage out of my house, but I'm sure it will happen some day.
Always nice to hear from a local.

Well at least you should be safe from flooding on Easter Road... unless you're at the bottom of the hill I suppose! Anyway, hope the insurance company fix your house from looking like something from beneath Bogenhaffen |

The insurance seem to be soing fine, which is nice. And the flat I've been given is on the fifth floor of a new build, so it's not too likely to be flooded any time soon. Then again, having looked outside! Bleh! Windy and floodingly wet! _________________ Hapimeses.com |
